Ordering & Shipping
How do I place an order?
You can order through our online store 24/7. Browse, add to cart, and check out. If you’d rather see the fish in person first, visit us at our Eastwood shop. We carry a much wider range in store than what’s listed online.
What are your shipping costs?
Shipping is calculated by order value:
| Order Total | Shipping Cost |
|---|---|
| Under $100 | $25 |
| $100 – $149.99 | $11 |
| $150+ | Free |
Minimum order for shipping is $25. All shipments go via express courier.
Where do you ship?
We ship Australia-wide except Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Tasmania due to state-level import regulations on live aquatic animals. If you’re in one of those areas, please email us to discuss options.
When are live animals shipped?
Live fish, shrimp, and snails are dispatched on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only. This ensures your animals arrive well before the weekend. Dry goods (food, equipment, accessories) ship Monday to Friday.
How are fish packed for shipping?
Every fish is individually bagged with pure oxygen. Bags are placed inside insulated foam boxes to keep temperatures stable. During winter, we add heat packs at no extra charge.
Can I pick up my order?
Yes. Click & Collect is available and completely free. Place your order online, select the pickup option, and collect from our Eastwood store during opening hours.
Can I use Uber delivery?
Yes, you’re welcome to arrange a courier like Uber Connect to collect your order from the store. This is at your own cost. Just let us know so we can have everything ready.
Fish Care
How do I acclimate new fish?
- Float the sealed bag in your tank for 15–20 minutes to equalise temperature.
- Open the bag and add a small amount of tank water every 5 minutes for about 20–30 minutes.
- Gently net the fish into the tank. Discard the bag water.
- Keep the lights dimmed for the first few hours.
For shrimp, drip acclimation over 1–2 hours gives better results.
How often should I feed my fish?
Once or twice a day. Feed only what they can finish in about two minutes. Overfeeding is one of the most common mistakes — leftover food spikes ammonia. A varied diet (flakes, pellets, frozen foods) keeps them healthy.
My fish looks sick — what should I do?
Start by testing your water parameters. High ammonia, nitrite, or pH swings are behind most health issues. Do a 20–30% water change immediately. If the problem persists, come in and talk to our team — bring a water sample if you can.
How often should I change the water?
We recommend 20–30% water changes every week. Use a gravel vacuum to siphon debris from the substrate. Always treat replacement water with a dechlorinator before adding it to the tank.
Returns & Guarantees
What if my fish arrives dead?
We stand behind our 100% Arrive Alive Guarantee:
- Take a clear photo of the fish in the unopened, sealed bag.
- Email to amazonia2049@gmail.com within 24 hours of delivery.
- We’ll arrange a replacement shipment.
We resend replacements rather than issue refunds. The photo must show the fish in the original sealed bag.
Can I return live fish?
No. All live animal sales (fish, shrimp, snails, plants) are final due to biosecurity and livestock health considerations.
Can I return equipment or dry goods?
Faulty or wrong item: contact us within 24 hours for a full refund. Change of mind: exchange only — item must be unopened and in original packaging. See our full policy.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, but only before dispatch. Once packed and handed to the courier, we can’t cancel or recall it. Get in touch as soon as possible.
